VIJAYAWADA: Cashing in the shortage of NCERT books, the bookshop owners in the city are making fast buck by selling the photocopy of the books at higher prices.
The NCERT books are high in demand among the medicine aspirants after the Union government had made the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) mandatory for pursuing MBBS degree. The nonavailability of the books, which cover the new syllabus, is proved to be a good opportunity for the bookshop owners to earn fast bucks. Some book sellers at Eluru Road and Alankar Theatre centre in the city are selling the photostat copies of the NCERT books at MRP of the books. They are making good money as medicine aspirants are not hesitating to buy those copies at any prices.
