KOCHI: The experienced farmers in the state should come forward and endorse the concept of natural or zero budget farming, said Sarang Gopalakrishnan, a pioneer in natural farming in the state.Speaking at the releasing of the Malayalam translation of R Swamy Anand’s book - Subhash Palekarude Zero Budget Prakrithi Krishi - here on Friday, he said: “Children should be taught the nuances of natural farming at the school level itself. For this, parents and teachers should take the initiative.”R Swamy Anand’s book on the natural methods of farming, founded by Subhash Palekar, an agricultural scientist from Maharashtra, speaks on the benefits of this form of farming which has borne fruit in Karnataka. This technique includes the utilisation of urine and dung of country cows.A 24-minute documentary - A nation for sale’, by Joseph Bernard, depicting the farmer suicides in the state, was also screened.Swami Surya of Suryayog, PP Baburaj who translated the book into Malayalam, were also present.
