BANGALORE: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda categorically turned down the demand of a section of MLAs belonging to B S Yeddyurappa camp to convene the legislature party meeting even as 19 more MLAs joined the bandwagon on Wednesday seeking the LP meeting.“There is no need to convene legislature party meeting. I can discuss the letter only with the party high command. The legislative party meeting is not a proper forum to discuss such issues. I will convince the MLAs,” Gowda said when asked about the demand.He also defended his action stating that it was his duty to apprise the party national president on the developments and that there was nothing wrong.Enraged by the CM’s reaction, the BSY camp stepped up pressure by making 19 more legislators, including three MLCs and about 10 MPs, write letters to Gowda seeking the legislature party meeting. They are planning to secure more than half of legislators in a day or two.“We will create a situation where the CM will be forced to convene the meeting. This is going to be a final war,” said an MLA from the Yeddyurappa camp, though he did not appear confident of achieving what he has said.Tumkur MLA Suresh Gowda launched a direct attack on the CM stating that it was the BSY camp which made him the CM and he had to convene the meeting when MLAs demanded it. He also accused the CM of not releasing funds to constituencies of BSY’s followers.Meanwhile, Yeddyurappa, who was discharged from hospital, met his supporters and held discussions.According to sources, the BSY camp will embark on its next plan of action only after the Supreme Court pronounces its order on Friday on CEC recommending CBI inquiry into allegations against Yeddyurappa.
