NEW DELHI/BANGALORE: Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa’s come back efforts seemed to have failed to impress the party bosses in Delhi as they remained non-committal to either of his demands — to reinstate him as CM or to make him the state BJP president.Yeddyurappa, who has been camping in Delhi for the last three days for a final word on his reinstatement from the national leaders, has not got any positive response, though most leaders are said to be sympathetic about his present situation.“We have great regards for your services to the party... Give us time. We will take an appropriate decision,” is what BJP national leaders, including party national president Nitin Gadkari, are said to have told Yeddyurappa, who carried a letter signed by over 60 MLAs and 16 out of 19 MPs supporting his comeback efforts.Yeddyurappa’s betenoire, H N Ananthkumar, two other MPs, Prahlad Joshi and Ananthkumar Hegde, are said to have not supported Yeddyurappa.Meanwhile, around a dozen MPs led by Bangalore North MP D B Chandregowda met BJP senior leader L K Advani on Thursday with a request to give Yeddyurappa an “appropriate position” either in the government or in the party. On his part, Advani who was instrumental in getting Yeddyurappa dethroned immediately after his indictment in the Lokayukta illegal mining report, told the delegation to approach Gadkari about their request. Advani is reported to have refused to meet Yeddyurappa while stating to be too busy with the Parliament session to meet him.The group then met Gadkari in the evening. “He patiently listened to us and told us that a right decision would be taken at a right time,” Shivaramagouda, an MP in the group, told Express.
