Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday took up the matter of recovery of bodies of five persons from the state with his Punjab counterpart Prakash Singh Badal and urged him to get the matter probed thoroughly.
Kumar spoke to Punjab CM and his Deputy Sukhbir Singh Badal on recovery of bodies of five natives of Purnea district at Talwandi Bhai village in Firozpur district of Punjab, an official statement said in Patna.
A girl of the victim's family is missing. Kumar expressed deep sorrow over recovery of five bodies in a dilapidated condition from a house on Thursday. He urged his Punjab counterpart to get the matter probed thoroughly and order appropriate action.
He also instructed Chief Secretary Anjani Kumar Singh and state police chief PK Thakur to be in touch with their Punjab counterparts over the issue.
The Bihar CM said that he has asked Chief Secretary to help families of the victims and pay them compensation.
