Bid to torch Pandals

HYDERABAD: Mild tension prevailed in the sensitive Madannapet locality on Tuesday afternoon after some miscreants damaged a Ganesh idol and tried to set pandal ablaze.
However, locals rushed to the place and doused the flames before it spread to the pandal. Additional forces were deployed in the locality to prevent any untoward incident.Meanwhile, tension prevailed at Meerpet after fire broke out at a pandal at Lenin Nagar on Tuesday. The tarpaulin on the pandal suddenly caught fire and collapsed on the idol. Locals immediately doused the fire, but a part of the idol was damaged.
