New Delhi: A Delhi court allowed a plea by Bharati Yadav, a key witness to Nitish Katara's murder in 2002, for in camera recording of her evidence on Monday.
However, Additional Sessions Judge Ravinder Kaur said that Neelam Katara, mother of the deceased, and Bharati's parents could attend the proceedings, scheduled to begin November 29.
The court order means that media persons will not be allowed to cover the proceedings.
Seeking a restraint on the media from covering the recording of evidence of Bharati, her counsel had last week urged Delhi High Court to issue a direction to the trial court to conduct the proceedings in camera.
Refusing to pass any order on the plea, Justice A K Sikri had asked her counsel to move the trial court.
Bharati, the daughter of former Rajya Sabha Member D PYadav, is in London pursuing her studies.
Her brother Vikas Yadav and cousin Vishal Yadav are facing trial in the case for allegedly kidnapping Nitish Katara, son of a former bureaucrat, and later killing him in February 2002 because they were allegedly against their sister's affair with him.
