Mumbai: Police have detained three people in connection with the murder and rape of three minor sisters in Maharashtra's Bhandara. The three are being interrogated about the crime even though police officials have refused to give any information about the investigations. But sources say police have got some vital clues and evidence.
Till now over 100 people have been questioned in connection with the rape cum murder case but officials have failed to make much headway. Meanwhile, Bhandara residents say they will not let go of the culprits and pursue the case to its logical end.
They have already warned the state government of more protests if the perpetrators are not caught and punished at the earliest.
The three sisters aged 6, 8 and 11 had gone missing on the afternoon of February 14. Their bodies were found in a well barely 2 km from their house on February 16. Preliminary post-mortem had confirmed that the girls were raped before being murdered
