THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Uroos festival at the Beemapally Dargah Sherief will commence on April 23 and conclude on May 3. Beemapally Imam Abdul Khadar Anwari will lead the ‘Duaa’ prayer at 8 am on Monday. A procession starting from the Dargah Sherief premises will go around the town and return to the premises by 10.30 am.Beemapally Juma Masjid chief imam K M Hassan Asharaf Ali Bakhavi will lead the ‘Duaa’ prayer. In the presence of a large number of devotees, Jama-at president M M A Khadar will hoist the flag at 11 am marking the beginning of the ten-day-long fest.Addressing a news conference, M M A Khadar and Jama-at secretary M A Khadar said during the festival days, ‘Munajath’, ‘Moulood’ recital, ‘Ratheeb’ and similar programmes will be held. From Monday to May 2, various scholars will deliver religious discourses at 9 pm. A religious harmony meet will be held at 7 pm on May 2. At 11.30 pm, Tamil Islamic songs will be rendered.A procession will be held from 1.30 pm on May 3. Kozhikode Khasi Janab Abdul Hayyi Nazzar Shihab Thangal will lead the ‘Duaa’ at 3.30 pm. A feast will be held 5.30 pm on that day.
