The blunder that has brought on a wave of criticism.
New Delhi: It was the first international day of non-violence and the Government pledged to reinforce the Gandhian ideology in the country but not without a blunder that has brought on a wave of criticism.
At a function organised by the Ministry of Culture along with the Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, one thing that was forgotten was the singing of the national anthem.
The national anthem was to be sung at the end of the function, but the organisers forgot to carry it out, upsetting many of those present.
Among those who attended the function were Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi Tara Gandhi, senior cabinet ministers and top bureaucrats.
