Incheon: Indian shooter Ahmad Mairaj Khan finished fifth while the Indian team came seventh in the men's skeet event of the 17th Asian Games at the Gyeonggido Shooting Range here on Tuesday.
Ahmad, who was the only Indian to sneak into the semi-final, shot 11 out 15, which was not enough to take him to the medals matches. Earlier, Ahmad scored 119 to finish sixth in the qualification round.
Other Indians in the fray, Parampal Singh Guron (110) and Arozepal Sandhu (109), failed to reach the semi-final after finishing 24th and 26th, respectively during the qualification.
Kuwait's Abdullah Alrashidi clinched the gold medal with a score of 16 as compared to 12 managed by China's Xu Ying, who took silver. The bronze medal went to China's Di Jin.
In the team event, the Indian trio scored a combined 338 to come seventh as China, Kuwait and South Korea walked away with gold, silver and bronze, respectively.
With this event, the shooting competition in the Asiad ended. The Indian contingent managed nine medals (one gold, one silver and seven bronze).
