Art and Wood meet, expo on October 19

BANGALORE: The Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, is organising an international conference and exhibition on different social and cultural dimensions of wood use, in collaboration with the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations, to mark the International Year of Forests. The exhibition and conference will be held from October 19 to 22.The exhibition will feature architects and engineers, to advise the public on the advantages of using commercial wood as an option            to traditional hardwoods like Teak. It will also have artists making toys, statues,   musical instruments etc out of wood, to promote the use    of wood.
