HYDERABAD: Intermediate first year students have improved their performance by registering a pass percentage of 53.75 per cent compared to last year’s 52.12 per cent. The results were declared on Friday by secondary education minister K Parthasarathy.However, girls continued to outperform boys this year also. While the boys registered 49.73 pass percentage, girls recorded 58 pass percentage.Out of the 8,50,433 candidates, who took the exam 41.45 per cent figured in ‘A’ grade (greater than or equal to 75 per cent) while 32.21 per cent secured ‘B’ grade (greater than or equal to 60 per cent and less than 75 per cent).The pass percentage in government junior colleges was 45.54 while aided colleges registered 35.34 pass percentage. Candidates, who have passed in all papers, can appear for improvement, on payment of Rs100 per paper in addition to the normal examination fees. Candidates who wish to go for recounting have to pay Rs 100 per paper and Rs 600 per paper for photocopy as well as re-verification of answer book.The last date is May 3.The mark registers of all colleges will be dispatched to the Regional Inspection Officers (RIOs) concerned in two days. The principals of the colleges have to collect them from RIOs from April 25 and display in their colleges.The discrepancies, if any, found in the marks memoranda should be referred to the board through the college principals concerned before May 21. Vocational students registered a pass percentage of 33.2 per cent.
