Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh government would observe 'Nava Nirmana Deeksha' (vow for reconstruction) on Tuesday to mark the formation of the new Andhra Pradesh one year back due to bifurcation of undivided AP.
The formation of Andhra Pradesh used to be celebrated every year in the undivided state, but the state government has decided to observe the day as 'reconstruction day' as bifurcation was carried out against the wishes of the people, the state government said.
As per the government's plans, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would attend the event in Vijayawada, the proposed capital region of the state, state Information Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy said.
Reddy said rallies would be organised at major places in the state to mark the occasion.
Noting that the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh was done "unilaterally" with liabilities being divided on the basis of population and assets on geographical basis between Telangana and AP, Reddy said the state cabinet decided to seek clarification from Centre on various issues affecting the state.
The government decided to release Rs 3,528 crore from June three to seven towards the promise of loan waiver for self-help group women, Reddy added.
