Amma kicks off election campaign
It's a campaign that will last over a month and will take Jayalalithaa across TN as she fights a crucial sAssembly Election.

Chennai: Jayalalithaa kicked off her election campaign in Chennai on Friday.

The AIADMK supremo who's seeking re-election of her government will now travel across the state wooing voters for over a month.

She's known to be superstitious and so Jayalalithaa's cadres are ready.

Hours before she started her campaign, women in traditional yellow sarees were all set to perform the pooja right at their leader's door step.

Saraswathi, one of the ladies waiting to perform the pooja, said, "We are all praying for her victory."

At the spot where she'll start her campaign, priests who have performed the pooja for her success, are ready with the prasadam for Amma.

When the Chief Minister's convoy reached the place where she begun her campaign, her supporters were waiting to hail their leader.

"There are nearly 13 ministers at the Centre to ensure that Tamil Nadu gets nothing. Despite this, we have been able to succeed in giving a good government," says the Amma of politics.

It's a campaign that will last over a month and a journey that will take Jayalalithaa across Tamil Nadu as she fights a crucial and close Assembly Election.

Jayalalithaa's campaign the 2006 Assembly Elections is designed especially for her new image, which is a 360 degree tranformation from the image she had in the 2004 Lok Sabha polls.
