Having used them in the recent attacks in Jordan, al-Zarqawi thinks combat training for women would be a good idea.

New Delhi: Intelligence sources in the US say that al-Qaeda is divided over using female suicide bombers.

The most-wanted terrorist internationally, Osama bin Laden, and the official exponent of his troor ideology, Ayman Zawahiri, are against the idea, as they feel it would create discipline problems.

However, al-Qaeda leader in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, is in favour of using women as homicidal martyrs.

He is even canvassing for giving young girls and women basic schooling and combat training

The increasing suicide attacks by women insurgents in the Middle East are worrying western counter-terrorism officials.

They fear women bombers would spread their wings and carry out operations in Western Europe or the US.
