Air India’s low cost arm, the Air India Express, has announced its winter schedule. The airline has increased the number of services from the Kerala and Mangalore sectors to the Middle East from 92 to 119 per week.
The services to Muscat will be held thrice a week and Kochi will be connected to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bahrain, Doha and Sharjah daily.
“The passengers from Kochi will be offered convenient connections to Dammam via Kozhikode on a daily basis, and to Kuwait three times a week, with both the boarding cards issued in Kochi and the baggage tagged to the final destination,” said the airline authorities in a press conference.
There will be daily flights from Kozhikode to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Bahrain, Doha, Dammam and Muscat. AI Express will fly twice to Salalah, thrice to Kuwait and once to
Al-Ain on a weekly basis. Daily services will be operated to connect Thiruvananthapuram to Abu Dhabi and Dubai daily. Sharjah will be connected four times and Salalah twice on a weekly basis. From Mangalore, Air India Express will fly twice daily to Dubai, thrice a week to Muscat and Abu Dhabi and twice a week to Doha and Bahrain.
In the domestic sector, Air India Express will operate daily flights to Mumbai from Kochi, Thrivanathapuram and thrice a week from Kozhikode to Mumbai and back.
“It is the first time that Air India Express is operating as many services from Kerala and Mangalore to the Gulf and back,” said Air India Express spokesperson.
He also said that this increase in capacity would help to stabilise the rush to a large extent.
The AI Express will also operate a flight from Tiruchirapalli to Dubai and back and to Singapore daily while Chennai will have a daily fwlight to Colombo and Singapore. Kuala Lumpur will be connected four times a week from Chennai.
There will be daily flights in the Amritsar-Dubai secror. There will also be four flights a week between Jaipur and Dubai while Lucknow will have a daily flight to Dubai.
