HYDERABAD: The Ahmediya Muslim community on Sunday condemned the decision of the AP Wakf Board to strike off their community’s name from the records of all mosques and community centres and handing of their properties to the Endowments department. According to a press note, Muhammad Sohail, zonal president of Ahmediya Muslims has requested the chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to intervene in the matter and accord justice to the community.“Who has given power to the board to take such decision? Ahmediyas are Muslims as they believe in Allah and sincerely follow the fundamental pillars of namaz, roja, zakat, Haj, follow the Quran as the word of God and worship Prophet Muhammad as Khatamun Nabiyeen,” he said.“It is surprising that the Wakf Board had been collecting huge taxes from Ahmediya Muslims for the last 70 years and all of a sudden it has decided to strike-off our identity without consulting the members of our community,” he observed.
