BANGALORE: As a part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) real estate developer, the Embassy Group, launched a state-of-the-art higher primary government school in Tarahunse village, North Bangalore. The school has been adopted by the Stonehill International School (an educational initiative of the Embassy Group) with the intention of providing varied assistance to the school.Stonehill Higher Primary School was inaugurated by Education Minister, Kageri Vishweshwara Hegde. Commending the Group for developing the higher primary government school, the Minister urged the corporate sector to take up such initiatives to develop 50,000 government schools in the state. Stonehill International School will be supporting the teaching staff at the Government Higher Primary School besides providing necessary grants from time to time. Sports equipment, musical instruments, arts and crafts and other vocational training resources too will be provided.With the help of the students of Stonehill International School, they will develop and interact with the children of the government school to design appropriate exchange programmes for the overall development of the children on a continuous basis.The Stonehill Government Higher Primary School in Jala Hobli, Tarahunse Village, Bangalore North Taluk is situated about 25 kilometers away from Bangalore City and 12 kilometers from Yelahanka and is located between NH7 and Doddaballapur State Highway.This Government school was started as a primary school in 1942 before Independence which during that time was recognised by the Mysore Government with a school strength of 45 children. In the year 1981-82, this school was upgraded up to class 7 and in 2003-04, the school was upgraded up to class 8. This facility was planned for 500 students and provides all the infrastructure required up to class 10.
