KOCHI: A 90-year old woman leading a lonely life in Aroor has been rescued by the Theruvora Pravarthaka Samithi.Paruvamma, residing in Vazhakkolil House, ward no 16, in Aroor Panchayath was in an exhausted condition when found by the Theruvora activists led by Murugan. She was later shifted to the destitute’s home at Vaduthala. Having been leading a pathetic life for the last few months, she was surviving on food provided by the neighbours. But as her single-room house does not have a door, stray animals used to take away the food from inside, leaving her hungry. She was also unable to move out even for basic needs. The local residents, led by ward member E V Thilakan, helped Theruvora Pravarthaka Samithi shift the unmarried Paruvamma to the destitute’s home as directed by the police.
