89 New IT Parks To Be Developed In Bengaluru's Yeshwanthpur, Whitefield And Other Areas
The Bengaluru Metropolitan Region Development Authority (BMRDA) is planning to develop self-sufficient towns in IT City suburbs Bidadi, Solur near Magadi and Nandagudi in Hosakote.

Bengaluru, often referred to as Silicon City or IT-BT City, is set to welcome 89 IT Tech Parks from 54 industries in the coming years. The new tech parks will be set up in key areas including the North Zone, Mahadevapura and Bommanahalli zones. These state-of-the-art facilities are expected to be completed in the next two to three years. At present, Bengaluru is the nation’s leading software exporter and a major semiconductor hub. The development of new IT parks will further strengthen the city’s status as a technology hub.

Among the major locations, more than 10 IT companies are set to start in Yeshwanthpur in the North Zone and Whitefield. As per reports, five new IT companies will be launched in Bellandur, two at Tumkur Road, one at Koramangala and three new IT companies in the Kundalahalli area. With the start of new IT companies, employment is also expected to increase in Bengaluru.

The Bengaluru Metropolitan Region Development Authority (BMRDA) is planning to develop self-sufficient towns in IT City suburbs Bidadi, Solur near Magadi and Nandagudi in Hosakote. This two-decade-old proposal has now been revived. As part of the preparatory work, the Bangalore Metropolitan Area Development Authority has written to Namma Metro to study the possibility of connecting these three areas with the Metro.

As per officials among the three towns, Bidadi will be taken up first in practice. Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, DK Shivakumar, who holds the Bengaluru development portfolio, is launching this project. For self-sufficiency, a letter has been written to the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) to create infrastructure to supply potable water separately to these suburbs. Bidadi City is covered by four highways hence serving as a requirement measure for constructing a comprehensive township in Bidadi.

“The township will have commercial buildings like logistics parks, data centres and residential units,” BMRDA’s Metropolitan Commissioner Rajendra P Cholan said in the report.
