BHUBANESWAR: Bijay Kumar Sharma continues as the Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, even as the State Government on Monday effected a massive reshuffle at the top level of the police administration by transferring as many as 41 officials. Sharma was promoted to the rank of additional director-general (ADG) recently. The post of police commissioner has been upgraded to ADG rank. However, the deputy commissioners of police (DCPs) for Bhubaneswar and Cuttack have been changed. Superintendent of police, Ganjam, Nitinjit Singh has been posted as DCP, Bhubaneswar, while Kandhamal SP Praveen Kumar is the new DCP, Cuttack. DCP Bhubaneswar Himanshu Lal has been transferred as SP, Rourkela. DCP, Cuttack, Amitendranath Sinha has been posted as SP, Puri. Rekha Lohani, DCP(headquarters), Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, has been posted as additional CP, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack. As per changes, Sanjeev Marik, ADG (headquarters) loses his additional charge of operations. V Thiagarajan, ADG, Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC), has been appointed as ADG, Training. Abhaya after elevation as ADG will continue with CID- CB, Orissa. Pradip Kapur, IG of Police (IGP), Railways, has been posted as ADG, HRPC after promotion. M Nageswar Rao, IGP, CRPF has been posted as ADG, Orissa State Armed Police (OSAP). Amrit Mohan Prasad, special secretary in the Home Department has been appointed as IGP (vigilance) while SM Narvane, IGP, Eastern Range, Balasore, has been posted as IGP, Railways. YB Khurania, IG, OSAP, has been shifted as IG, Operations. Debasis Panigrahi, IGP, Modernisation, has been posted as special secretary in the Home Department while Jaydeep Nayak has been posted as IG, provisioning. While Lalit Das, IGP, central range, has been transferred as IGP, modernisation, SK Nath, deputy inspector general (DIG) of police has been posted as IG, CB-CID, after promotion. RP Koche, DIG (NR) has been posted as IGP(NR), Sambalpur, after promotion while Santosh Bala, DIG, CB-CID, has been posted as IGP, north central range, Talcher. PS Ranpise, DIG (OSAP), has been shifted as DIG (Personnel). He has been replaced with Asit Kumar Panigrahi, SP, Sambalpur. Sanjay Kumar, SP, Puri has been transferred as DIG, Eastern Range, while Mayurbhanj SP Dayal Gangwar has been posted as SP, Jharsuguda. Soorya Thankapan will be the new Mayurbhanj SP. Kavita Jalan, SP, Jharsuguda, has been posted as SP, Bargarh while Nikhil Kanodia will take over as SP, Sambalpur. He was AIG of police, State police headquarters, Cuttack. SP, Sonepur, Sanjay Kumar Kaushal has been posted as SP, Nuapada while Deepak Kumar, SP, Sundergarh has been posted as SP, Jajpur. Sanjeev Aurora, commandant of the special operations group (SOG), has been posted as SP, Sundergarh. Jai Narayan Pankaj will be the new SP, Kandhamal. He was SP, Bhadrak. OPS-I officer Chintamani Panda will succeed him as SP, Bhadrak. While Dasarathi Nayak has been posted as SP, Sonepur, Karamse Kawar will be SP-II, CB, Cuttack. OPS-I officer Chittaranjan Das has been posted as SP, Deogarh and Ajay Kumar Sarangi has been posted as SP, security wing.
