Fresh batch of pilgrims leave for Amarnath as authorities lift curfew.
Jammu: The 25th batch of 1,240 pilgrims left from Jammu on Monday to continue their journey to the holy shrine of Amarnath in South Kashmir.
A convoy of 44 vehicles with 1,240 devotees left from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu at around 4:50 am towards Amarnath, the police said.
With this batch which included 950 males, 230 women, 15 children and 45 sadhus, a total of 45,741 pilgrims have left Jammu base camp for Amarnath so far.
The yatra had been suspended on July 19 in the wake of the firing incident that had taken place in the Ramban belt where four people were killed and 42 others injured.
