Two Bol Bom devotees died and another was seriously injured after being hit by a mini-truck on NH 5 near Orali village under Kuakhai police limits in the district on Friday.
They were on their way to Kapilas temple in Dhenkanal district to offer water collected from Kharasrota river at Chandibanka when the accident took place.
The deceased have been identified as Ratnakar Sahu (30) and Sahadev Sahu (35) of Paridabad village. The injured, Susanta Kumar Nayak of Hasanpur, was taken to a local hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack. “A case has been registered and efforts are on to nab the truck driver,” said IIC Bijay Kumar Aich.
