Dedicated fans of celebrities often find unique ways to express their love and admiration, and a Rajinikanth fan from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, has made headlines by constructing a temple in honour of the superstar.

The ardent fan, Karthik, converted a portion of his house into a temple dedicated to Rajinikanth, showcasing the level of devotion Rajinikanth commands among his followers. Inside the temple, there stands a 250 kg idol of the Thalaivar, as Rajinikanth is affectionately known by his fans.

Speaking to ANI, Karthik expressed the profound respect and admiration he holds for Rajinikanth. He likened Rajinikanth to a god and emphasized that the temple was a gesture of immense respect for the superstar. His daughter, Anushiya, shared that they worship the idol of Rajinikanth in a manner akin to worshipping deities in a traditional temple setting. According to reports, Karthik is exclusively devoted to watching Rajinikanth’s films and follows no other actor.

Rajinikanth’s latest film, Jailer, has turned into one of the most significant Indian releases of the year. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the movie has amassed over Rs 600 crores at the box office since its release in September. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Rajinikanth, Vinayakan, Mirnaa Menon, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, and Yogi Babu, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

Recent updates suggest that the legendary actor has signed two new projects. Currently, he is shooting for his next film, tentatively titled Thalaivar 170. The movie is directed by TJ Gnanavel and boasts a star-studded cast that includes Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, and Ritika Singh. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

In Thalaivar 171, Rajinikanth collaborates with director Lokesh Kanagaraj and the project is slated to kick off production in 2024, further fueling the anticipation among Rajinikanth’s devoted fan base.
