How to Wait in Fallout 4 on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Windows
In Fallout 4, there are some quests that require you to wait—but how exactly do you wait? There isn't a dedicated keybind or button to press to wait, but thankfully waiting is very simple—all you need is a chair. Keep reading this article to learn more about how to wait in Fallout 4.
Things You Should Know
  • To wait, simply sit down in any chair, couch, or bench.
  • You can sit in either a crafted chair or one you find in the overworld.
  • If you're allowed to wait, the game will prompt you that you can wait once you sit down.

How to Wait

Find a chair. Unlike other Bethesda games, you can only wait in Fallout 4 if you've got a chair to sit in. You can use a chair you find in the overworld, or you can craft your own chair.

Sit down, and select how long you want to wait. Once you sit, the game will give you a prompt if you want to wait a certain amount of time.

Crafting a Chair

There are a number of chairs to craft in the workshop. Below are some of the chairs you can craft: Armchair: 3 Cloth and 5 Wood will make an Antique Armchair. Other armchairs are available as well (though all of them use Cloth and Wood, with the exception of the Wide Armchair using Steel as well). Barber Chair: 1 Plastic and 4 Wood Dining Chair: 1 Steel and 4 Wood Folding Chair: 4 Steel Kitchen Chair: 2 Cloth and 2 Steel will make a Kitchen Chair. Other chairs are available as well (all of them use Cloth and Steel, though some also use Plastic). Modern Chair: 4 Cloth and 4 Steel Office Chair: 4 Leather and 4 Steel
