A Complete List of the Best Assault Rifles in Call of Duty: Warzone 2
A Complete List of the Best Assault Rifles in Call of Duty: Warzone 2
Assault rifles can be incredibly useful in Warzone, as they are incredibly versatile in their range and firing rate. But what are the best ARs in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0? This wikiHow article runs through all the most powerful ARs in Warzone 2.0, ranking them from best to worst. We also include the best meta loadouts for any situation!
Things You Should Know
  • The ISO Hemlock and the TAQ-56 are the two strongest ARs in CoD: Warzone 2.
  • Players looking for an AR that excels from long range should consider the Lachmann-556.
  • The Kastov 74u is the ideal AR for those who need a close-range weapon.
  • Although some players may appreciate the M16's burst fire, it is not a recommended AR for Warzone 2.0.

ISO Hemlock

The ISO Hemlock is the ultimate AR for newcomers and veterans alike. The ISO Hemlock is remarkably easy to use. It offers low recoil and impressive range, so you can use it in just about any situation. Its damage is also high enough that you don't even need to land a headshot to exact a kill. Its only minor drawback is its slow firing rate, so keeping a good SMG handy is not a bad idea. Recommended loadout: Muzzle: SAKIN Tread-40 Barrel: LR-30/56 Underbarrel: Edge-47 Grip Magazine: 45-Round Mag (standard) Optic: Aim OP-V4

TAQ-56

The TAQ-56 has excellent handling speed, making it one of the easiest ARs to use in Warzone 2. The TAQ-56 - also known as the SCAR - does not excel in any one area, but its handling speed alone will give you an advantage over your competitors. Your mobility and reload time will keep you a step ahead, and its well-rounded damage levels are effective from any distance. Recommended loadout: Muzzle: Echoless-80 Barrel: 17.5″ Tundra Pro Optic: Aim-OP V4 Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56 Magazine: 60-Round Mag (standard)

M13B

The M13B is effective from long range. This AR offers low damage, but it has impressive range. Longtime Call of Duty players may recognize as it as the M13, and its low recoil lends it the best accuracy out of any AR in Warzone 2.0. Recommended loadout: Barrel: 14″ Bruen Echelon Muzzle: Harbinger D20 Optic: Cronen Mini Pro Magazine: 60-Round Mag (standard) Stock: Bruen R90 Factory

Kastov 762

The Kastov 762 is very strong at medium ranges, but may falter in other situations. This AR lacks the range necessary to be effective from long range, and a recent update for Warzone 2.0 nerfed its damage at every level. Still, it's worth considering for its effectiveness from medium range alone. Recommended loadout: Barrel: KAS-10 584MM Barrel Muzzle: ZLR Talon 5 Optic: Aim-OP V4 Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56 Magazine: 40-Round Mag

Lachmann-556

The Lachmann-556 is great from long range, but should be paired with a good SMG. Players will have a hard time getting kills up close with a Lachmann-556 as its firing rate is rather slow. Still, its low recoil lends it excellent accuracy from afar. Recommended loadout: Muzzle: Harbinger D20 Barrel: 15.6″ Lachmann Rapp Barrel Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56 Optic: Cronen Mini Red Dot Rear Grip: LMK64

Kastov-74u

The Kastov-74u is the perfect AR for Warzone 2.0 players who prioritize mobility and speed. One of the more lightweight ARs in the game, the Kastov-74u will keep you moving faster than your opponents. It therefore lends itself nicely to close-quarters combat, but it should definitely be complemented with a long-range option. Recommended loadout: Muzzle: SAKIN Tread-40 Barrel: ShortTac 330MM Stock: FT Tac-Elite Stock Underbarrel: FSS Sharkfin 90 Laser: FSS OLE-V

M4

The M4 is one of the most iconic guns in Call of Duty history, but it may not be ideal for Warzone 2.0. New players should consider the M4 for its ease of use and rapid firing rate, but most players should be able to excel with a superior option on this list. Recommended loadout: Muzzle: FTAC Castle Comp Barrel: Hightower 20″ Barrel Optic: Cronen Mini Pro Stock: Tempus P80 Strike Magazine: 45-Round Mag (standard)

Chimera

The Chimera is a great sniper support weapon, but it isn't good for much else. It may have a cool name, but the Chimera is rather limited in its use cases. It offers solid mobility, but it is bested by the Kastov-74u in that category, so there is little reason to opt for the Chimera here. Still, snipers may enjoy keeping a Chimera handy for close combat. Recommended loadout: Barrel: 6.5″ EXF Vorpal Muzzle: Polarfire-S Laser: VLK LZR 7MW Optic: Slimline Pro Rear Grip: D37 Grip

Kastov 545

The Kastov 545 is almost identical to the Kastov 762, but its relative weakness means players should pass. The 545 is a decent AR, and it does outperform the 762 in accuracy due to its low recoil, but there is otherwise little reason to recommend this gun over other ARs in Warzone 2.0. Recommended loadout: Barrel: IG-K30 406MM Muzzle: FSS Covert V Underbarrel: VX Pineapple Optic: Slimline Pro Magazine: 45-Round Mag

STB-556

The STB-556 offers excellent mobility, but not much else. The STB-556 is basically an SMG, with its lightweight build and rapid firing rate. It also has limited range and does not supported an expanded magazine, so players should look elsewhere if they want an AR for close-range use. Recommended loadout: Barrel: 24.4″ Bruen S-620 Muzzle: SAKIN TREAD-40 Magazine: 42 Round Mag Rear Grip: STIP-40 Grip Underbarrel: VX Pineapple

M16

The M16 actually isn't that bad of an AR, but its burst fire is far too ineffective for Warzone 2.0. Some players may love an AR with a burst fire, and understandably so. It can be effective in several scenarios, but you will have a hard time racking up kills in Warzone 2.0 with the M16, especially considering its intense recoil. We strongly advise against using it. Recommended loadout: Muzzle: Harbinger D20 Barrel: 14″ Carbine Shroud Optic: Schlager 3.4X Underbarrel: VX Pineapple Stock: Corio Precio Factory
