London: Andre Villas-Boas' criticism of an English Premier League referee has cost the Chelsea manager 12,000 Pounds after he was fined by the Football Association.
The FA found Villas-Boas guilty of improper conduct for comments made about a referee on Tuesday despite his denial of the charge, and warned him over his future behaviour.
Villas-Boas had said Chris Foy's performance in Chelsea's 1-0 loss at Queens Park Rangers last month was "very, very poor," and accused the referee and his officials of being swayed by the crowd at Loftus Road.
"The ref was poor, very, very poor, and it reflected in the result," Villas-Boas said after the Premier League match. "I spoke to him at the end and I was very aggressive to him. I don't care if he's OK or not."
Chelsea's Jose Bosingwa and Didier Drogba were sent off in the fiery west London derby.
The Chelsea boss, who joined in the close season from Porto, is under pressure after a third defeat in four games against Liverpool on Sunday.
