London: Sergio Aguero appears to be one step closer to leaving Atletico Madrid for Manchester City as the Argentina international prepares to travel to England on Wednesday in order to complete his transfer to the Premier League side, Marca reports.
Manchester City have allegedly agreed to match Aguero's € 45 million release clause and the attacker is expected to sign a five-year deal with Roberto Mancini's side later this week.
Aguero is currently still in Buenos Aires after taking part in the Copa America with Argentina earlier this month.
The 23-year-old forward was initially expected to resume squad training at the Vicente Calderon side on Monday, but failed to report for the practice session, further fuelling speculation about an imminent move to Manchester.
City manager Mancini revealed earlier this week that he hopes to complete Aguero's transfer in the near future and Manchester now appears to be the next destination for the player after a move to Juventus fell through and interest from Real Madrid cooled earlier this summer.
Aguero announced his attention to leave Atletico at the end of last season, his fifth in Spain after moving from Independiente as a teenager in 2006.
