Podolski scores as Germany beat Ecuador 4-2

Florida: Lukas Podolski scored after only 10 seconds to help Germany to a 4-2 victory over Ecuador in a friendly on Wednesday.

Podolski and Lars Bender scored two goals each inside the opening 24 minutes as Germany quickly overwhelmed the Ecuador defense in the match at FAU Stadium.

Ecuador pulled a goal back through Luis Valencia in first-half stoppage time and Walter Ayovi scored his team's second goal in the 83rd minute.

Immediately after Ecuador had kicked off, Podolski won possession and dribbled a couple of steps before unleashing a shot past goalkeeper Maximo Banguera. Bender made it 2-0 in the fourth minute and Podolski struck again in the 16th.

Germany will finish their two-game American visit against the United States on Sunday in Washington, D.C.
