Margao: Salgaocar and ONGC played out a goalless draw in the 11th round of the I-League here. The draw means both the teams remain at the bottom of the points table with seven points each from eleven matches.
Salgaocar, who were looking to get their first win under David Booth after three straight defeats, started positively and had more of exchanges in the barren first half at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda.
Salgaocar created plenty of scoring opportunities but rival keeper T P Rehenesh made some fine saves. ONGC, on the other hand, were content in playing the waiting game and seemed in no hurry to take the battle to the opposition.
Japanese midfielder Katsumi Yusa combined well but lacked the necessary firepower. However, they had a couple of chances in the latter part of the matchbut could not really trouble the rival keeper Karanjit Singh.
Salgaocar's frustration continued in the second half too withMilagres Gonaslvesbeing the main offender who fumbled when opportunity came his way and missed a clear chance in the dying minutes of the game.
