‘It's Going to Be Brutal:’ Vinicius Junior on His Partnership With Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior appears to be excited to play alongside Kylian Mbappe in the upcoming season. The Brazilian international hopes that Mbappe will not take much time to adapt to the playing style at Real Madrid. Vinicius also issued a warning to the opponents, referring to his partnership with the French star as “brutal”. Mbappe has joined Real Madrid on a five-year deal during the summer transfer window after playing for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). He left the Ligue 1 club as its all-time leading goal scorer. Mbappe will now partner with Vinicius to lead the Real Madrid attack in the next campaign.

During a recent interaction with the club media, Vinicius Junior revealed that he was eagerly looking forward to pairing up with Kylian Mbappe. “It’s going to be brutal. Everyone is hoping we can do great things this season. We have to take care of him and we are doing everything so that he can adapt as quickly as possible,” the 24-year-old said, as quoted by 90min.

Vinicius Junior also admitted the fact that it would be complicated for Kylian Mbappe to get accustomed to the strategies of his new club. “But we’ve already done that with Jude, who came last season and shone, so hopefully we can spend a lot more with Kylian,” Vinicius added.

Vinicius Junior showed faith in his national teammate Endrick, who was unveiled at a full-house Santiago Bernabeu on July 27. “Endrick as well is coming in now, he is very young but already has it in his head that he can help us when we need him,” Vinicius said. With Real Madrid building a formidable attack, he aims to achieve more success in the 2024-25 season.

“I want to win more titles than last season, score more goals, make more assists and keep evolving because I am only 24 years old. I’ve been here for six years already. It’s time to come back and be focused because the first game is already a final for us, we are preparing and waiting for the remaining players so that this season is like the last one,” Vinicius Junior explained.

Real Madrid, the reigning Champions League winners, are set to take on Serie A side Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup final on August 15.
