Valencia: Valencia manager Gary Neville said on Sunday that he does not foresee himself at the helm of English Premier League (EPL) giants Manchester United anytime soon.

Neville represented Manchester United throughout his playing career, making 602 appearances for the former European champions from 1992-2001. He was a part of the celebrated Manchester United squad that won the treble -- comprising the EPL, FA Cup and Champions League titles -- in 1999 under Alex Fergusson.

The former England right-back took over the reins of former Spanish champions Valencia earlier this month which came as a surprise to many in the footballing world.

Manchester United have struggled to re-create their past performances under current manager Louis van Gaal. Several former players have criticised van Gaal for United's perceived boring style and there has been speculation that the Dutchman's reign at Old Trafford may not last too long.

Several former United players have been touted as van Gaal's successor, including current assistant coach Ryan Giggs. But Neville is keen to rule himself out of the race.

"No, I don't see myself managing Manchester United at all," Neville told Sky Sports.

"I know what I want to do in my life, and that's not something that's in my mind."

The 40-year-old added he is aware that he needs to be successful and believes the Valencia stint would help his coaching career in the long run.

"From my point of view, this is important for me and a valuable experience. I'm aware I need to succeed. Succeeding for me would be knowing these players have improved dramatically," said the former United skipper and right-back who had won the EPL eight times.

"Results come and go, I know we're in a results-driven business, but I have never looked at football like that since I've finished playing. I did when I was a player. As a part-owner, I think about moving forward in the next five, 10 years."
