Manchester United will reportedly part ways with Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the summer transfer window. The English right-back is understood to be heading towards another Premier League side West Ham United. A report published by Foot Mercato claimed that West Ham have matched Manchester United’s demands and agreed terms to sign Wan-Bissaka, having relinquished their pursuit of Bayern Munich full-back Noussair Mazraoui. The article went on to add that the Hammers have lined up themselves with Manchester United’s demands and an agreement has also been reached. The agreement with the player is reportedly left and West Ham’s salary offer has to now convince Wan-Bissaka to leave Old Trafford in order to complete the move. Wan-Bissaka has entered the final year of his Manchester United contract.
West Ham were interested in negotiating Manchester United’s valuation which, as per Sky Sports, is more than £15 million. It has been learnt that Noussair Mazraoui’s reported move to Manchester United has changed the situation around Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the transfer market.
As per The Guardian, West Ham were set to sign Noussair Mazraoui but that deal did not materialise and the London club is now eager to rope in Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The article even claimed that West Ham had previously agreed a £12.6 million, along with £2.3 million, price with Bayern Munich for the Moroccan international.
Noussair Mazraoui had spent two seasons with Bayern Munich after joining the Bavarian giants from Ajax in 2022. The 26-year-old had played under Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag while the Dutchman was at Ajax. Mazraoui played 137 appearances matches under Ten Hag at Ajax. At Bayern Munich, Mazraoui has so far featured in 56 matches. Mazraoui signed for the German giants on a free transfer.
Manchester United have made some impressive signings so far this summer having acquired the services of Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro. Manchester United recently faced Premier League rivals Arsenal in a pre-season friendly fixture losing the game 2-1. Manchester United managed to win a post-match penalty shoot-out which was stipulated to take place irrespective of the scoreline.
“Of course it is too short [to know about their injuries] and we have to wait over 24 hours, then we will hopefully know more. We were careful especially with Leny [Yoro] as he only did 50 per cent of the [training] sessions. He has to come up but let’s be positive and see what comes out,” Erik ten Hag told club media, as per Mirror.
Manchester United will next face Real Betis in another friendly scheduled to be played on July 31. Manchester United will also take on Liverpool ahead of their Community Shield fixture against Manchester City.
