Paris: Fabio Capello's son has told RMC that negotiations about his father taking over as manager of Paris Saint-Germain never even started and that "there was no offer" from the French club.

Capello, 67, was tipped by media to be unveiled as successor to compatriot Carlo Ancelotti at the Parc des Princes this week.

However, according to ESPN Soccernet, the former England manager will now almost certainly continue his mission to guide Russia to the 2014 World Cup after talks with PSG never got beyond their infancy.

"PSG asked us under which conditions Fabio could leave his post with the Russian Federation," Pierfilippo Capello, his father's lawyer and representative, revealed 24 hours after talking with PSG officials in the French capital.

"I can't reveal what those conditions are, but I can tell you they didn't suit PSG. The conditions and the timeframe to be respected posed a problem to PSG. For that reason, negotiations about a possible contract never even started.

"As soon as everyone understood that the clauses didn't suit PSG, we didn't go further. So we didn't talk about a contract, duration, money, or anything at all."

The Russian FA made their position clear with a statement released on Wednesday evening in which they stated they expected Capello Sr. to honour his contract, which reportedly has a €3 million release clause in it.

With PSG widely believed to be keen to appoint Arsene Wenger when his contract with Arsenal expires in a year's time, the French champions had already seen Andre Villas-Boas, Guus Hiddink and Michael Laudrup show little interest in their reported one-year deal with a further season on option offer.

"Things need to be clear: there was no offer from PSG for Fabio Capello. As Fabio Capello's lawyer, PSG never asked me: 'Is Fabio Capello interested in leaving the Russian FA to become PSG coach?' Simply because we never got that far."
