IPS officer Manoj Sharma’s journey, by now, has become a pinnacle of resilience and determination, inspiring many with his story of overcoming obstacles. However, Manoj Sharma is not the only one who turned setbacks into stepping stones towards success. Manjeet Singh, hailing from Rudraprayag, is another such individual who, despite facing failure in the 12th board exam, persevered and emerged as a role model.

Born and raised in Kimana village, Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand, Manjeet received his primary education from a local school before pursuing his high school and intermediate studies at GIC Ukhimath, Rudraprayag. In 2009, faced with failure in his first attempt at the intermediate exam, he refused to be disheartened and instead embraced the setback as a challenge. Undeterred, he reappeared for the exam in 2010, ultimately passing it with flying colours.

Continuing his educational journey, Manjeet pursued a Bachelor of Science degree from Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University in Srinagar, Uttarakhand. Subsequently, he completed his master’s degree in Chemistry from the same university in 2013. Following his graduation, he secured a job with the Azim Premji Foundation through campus selection.

However, Manjeet’s thirst for knowledge and academic excellence drove him to further pursuits. Clearing the NET-JRF and GATE exams, he earned admission to IISER Pune, one of India’s premier research institutes, for a PhD program in 2017. Throughout his doctoral studies, he authored ten research papers published in renowned international peer-reviewed journals, showcasing his dedication and expertise in the field of Chemistry. In 2024, he completed his Ph.D.

Building on his academic accomplishments, Manjeet has been selected as a Post-Doctoral Scientist in the Chemistry-Biology department at Tel Aviv University, Israel, based on his groundbreaking research work. Set to embark on this new chapter of his life, Manjeet is scheduled to depart from India to commence his journey in Israel on either February 25 or 26.

Manjeet Singh’s remarkable journey from overcoming failure to achieving academic excellence serves as a shining example of resilience, determination and the transformative power of education.
