Kaun Banega Crorepati, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, is one of the popular TV shows. If one has a good IQ and general knowledge, one can try their luck by going to this show. Meanwhile, in this latest season of Kaun Banega Crorepati season 16, two questions of general knowledge are very much in discussion, out of which one question made Chander Prakash, a UPSC aspirant, of Jammu and Kashmir, a millionaire, while there was also a question that kept him away from earning 7 crores. So today let’s take a look at those questions and their correct answers.
What was the question?
In Kaun Banega Crorepati Amitabh Bachchan asked a question to Chander Prakash, by answering which he became the first crorepati of this show. Amitabh asked Chander Prakash a geographic question. The question reads, “The largest city in which country is not its capital but a port with an Arabic name that means ‘abode of peace’? The options were: A) Somalia, B) Oman, C) Tanzania, and D) Brunei.”
The contestant used his last available lifeline called the ‘Double Dip’ and finally chose option C: Tanzania. That was the correct answer, and it changed Chander’s life forever; he became a crorepati.
After becoming a millionaire, if Chander Prakash had given the correct answer to the next question, he would have won Rs 7 crores. The next question Amitabh Bachchan asked Chander Prakash for Rs 7 crores was related to North America.
The question was: “Who was the first recorded child born to English parents in North America in 1587?”. For this answer, Chander Prakash got the options. A: Virginia Dare, B: Virginia Hall, C: Virginia Coffee, D: Virginia Sink.
The UPSC aspirant knew the right answer but wasn’t sure. So, after quitting the show with Rs 1 crore, he selected Option A—Virginia Dare, and it was the right choice.
Along with Rs 1 crore, Chander also took a brand-new Hyundai Venue SUV car.
Chander Prakash is a resident of Jammu and Kashmir. During the show, Prakash said that after his birth, he was diagnosed with a blockage in his intestine, and he also underwent surgery for the same. During the treatment, the medicine affected his kidney. Prakash is preparing for UPSC and also pursuing a Masters in Economics.
