David Warner’s wife Candice penned a heartfelt note after the Australian opener retired from all formats of international cricket.
A 24-run loss to India in the T20 World Cup ended Warner’s last tournament in an Aussie shirt. Following the early exit, Candice shared several photographs of her husband and family on Instagram.
Composing a warm tribute for Warner, she wrote the opener is retiring after ‘one of the best careers’ in Australian cricket history.
“Congratulations David Warner on one of the best international cricket careers we have ever seen for our country.”
She added, “To have had a front-row seat has been a privilege. We will miss seeing you play for Australia but we are so excited to have you home more. Love you.”

The post attracted a plethora of reactions on Instagram along with a thank you note from Warner himself.
The opener wrote, “Thanks for all your support and it would not be possible without it.”
Indian T20I star Suryakumar Yadav also commented on the post.
Warner’s ex-teammate and close friend Usman Khawaja along with his wife Rachel congratulated the Aussie opener on a fantastic career.
Khawaja wrote, “Congrats to both of you guys and your family. It takes a team.”
Rachel commented, “What an amazing career and what an amazing support network to help get there! Congrats to you all, a special career that will forever be talked about.”
Australia ex-skipper Aaron Finch wrote, “Congratulations Warner Family!!”
After jotting down the warm words for her husband, Candice highlighted major achievements in Warner’s career.
She pointed out that Warner is the only Australian and third international player to play 100 games across all three formats of the sport. She added that her husband has 49 centuries and 18,995 runs, and is only second to Ricky Ponting in both tallies among Australians.
Warner won two ODI World Cups, one T20I World Cup and one Test Championship during his playing years from 2009 to 2024.
Candice has constantly supported Warner through the latter’s career.
Earlier this year, it was the veteran cricketer who penned down a heartfelt note for his wife after retirement from Test cricket.
On his Instagram, Warner wrote, “I write this with a lot of emotions. What can I say!!! Honestly, you, @candywarner1, are the reason I made it this far.”
