Watch: Virat Kohli Stumped After 'BGT Mai Aag Laga Dena' Request

Virat Kohli recently received a bold request from the paparazzi. Kohli was spotted at the Mumbai airport days ahead of India’s upcoming red-ball series against New Zealand.

Boasting one of the biggest fanbases in the world, the talismanic batter was surrounded by fans and paparazzi for pictures. While most attempted to get a few clicks and clips of Kohli, one tried to strike a conversation with the former India skipper.

Referring to the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy in November, he said, “BGT mein aag lagani hai, [You have to lit up the BGT].”

Kohli was spotted rocking loose threads including a black t-shirt, a pair of light-blue jeans, white sneakers and a beige cap.

Kohli, at first, didn’t understand the request. He then turned towards the individual while looking a little stumped as he asked, “Kiske saath, [with whom].”

The person repeated himself and said ‘BGT’ to which Kohli nodded and said ‘acha, [okay]’ before leaving in his car.

Fans have reacted to the interaction between Kohli and the paparazzi.

One of them was almost certain that the star batter would show up in the upcoming series against Australia as he wrote, “Sure he will rule BGT with 700-plus runs. 5 centuries fixed.”

Another added, “Every fan wants to see one last peak of Virat Kohli before he retires especially in red-ball cricket.”

“The (goat emoji) Virat Kohli is here. King Kohli is ready to Rule in Test cricket,” read another response.

This person suggested that the cricketer had probably misheard what the paparazzi had said. “I think he thought ‘visiting.’ That’s why he answered ‘kiske saath?’”

“Great to see him back,” wrote one more fan.

Before the Australia tour, Kohli will have his eyes set on the upcoming New Zealand series that begins on October 16 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
