Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul received the traditional cake smash from his teammates as he turned 32, on Thursday. A day before locking horns with Chennai Super Kings at the Ekan Stadium, the franchise shared a clip of their captain’s birthday celebrations on Instagram.
Rahul cut his birthday cake at the team hotel and fed the first piece to the head coach, Justin Langer. And then began the party as the LSG players painted Rahul’s face with the icing of the delicious—looking cake. The skipper knew there wasn’t any escape route so he humbly took out his t-shirt, allowing his boys to put the cake all over his body.

KL Rahul had decent this season with 204 runs in six matches. Lucknow Super Giants conceded a defeat in their previous game against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Despite a 39-run knock from the skipper, Lucknow Super Giants could manage a total of 161 in the first innings. An unbeaten 89-run knock from Kolkata Knight Riders opener Phil Salt in the second innings saw the two-time winners run away with an eight-wicket victory.
