The Pakistan cricket team will be back in action next month when they host Bangladesh for a two-match Test series. It will be the first time Pakistan players will take the field after exiting the recent 2024 T20 World Cup in the first round itself.
The early exit gave way to reports of internal strife with Shaheen Afridi accused of misbehaviour by the coaching staff. It was followed by the sacking of former cricketers Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq from the selection committee.

Amidst this, an undated video of Pakistan white-ball captain Babar Azam and top-order batter Fakhar Zaman honing their during a net session is going viral.
The clip shows snippets of both Babar and Zaman facing uncapped fast bowler Ubaid Shah – the 18-year-old younger brother of Pakistan star Naseem Shah. Interestingly, in the 25 second long clip, the duo seems to be struggling against the right-arm pacer who has a combined experience of four matches spread across List A and T20s.
At the T20 World Cup, Babar-led Pakistan suffered defeats to USA and India in the opening round and recorded a solitary win over Canada to bow out. Their batters struggled to get going with Babar being their top-scorer – 122 from four innings at a strike-rate of 101.66.
On the other hand, Fakhar managed just 33 runs across four innings at a strike-rate of 110.
Earlier a report in news agency PTI claimed that PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has been advised against making any major changes.
“The reports by Kirsten and Riaz will help the Governing Board and chairman Naqvi decide the next course of action but all indications are there Naqvi doesn’t want a confrontation with senior players and he has also been advised against massive changes in the team,” a source was quoted as saying by PTI.
