After winning the T20 World Cup 2024 title by getting the better of South Africa in the final played at Kensington Oval on June 29, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team landed in Delhi on Thursday morning.

Rohit Sharma-led Indian men’s cricket team landed in Delhi on Thursday (July 4) morning after winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 title in the West Indies. The members of the Indian squad arrived at the IGI Airport in Delhi early in the morning. Fans were gathered in huge numbers to welcome the Indian players after they ended the 17-year wait for the second T20 World Cup trophy. After landing in Delhi, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma came out of the airport and flaunted the T20 World Cup trophy among loud cheers from the fans.

The members of India’s T20 World Cup 2024 team will check in at the ITC Maurya in Delhi and, after staying there for a while, will leave to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his office. A small function is organised by the PM at his office for the Indian team. After meeting PM Modi, Indian players will travel to Mumbai, where they are set to take part in an open bus parade at Marine Drive.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma and BCCI secretary Jay Shah took to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday (July 3) to invite fans to be part of the historic open bus parade in Mumbai.

“we want to enjoy this special moment with all of you. So let’s celebrate this win with a victory parade at Marine Drive & Wankhede on July 4th from 5:00 p.m. onwards. It’s coming home,” Rohit tweeted.

“Join us for the Victory Parade honouring Team India’s World Cup win! Head to Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium on July 4th from 5:00 pm onwards to celebrate with us! Save the date! #TeamIndia #Champions @BCCI @IPL,” Jay Shah wrote.

As per the available information, the open bus parade will start from NCPA, Nariman Point, and conclude at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. The BCCI has also organised a small function at Wankhede Stadium where the Rs 125 crore prize money will be distributed by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah to the members and support staff of Team India.
