Royal Challengers Bengaluru are set to make their ninth appearance in the IPL playoffs. They will lock horns against Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator, slated to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 22.
It has been a memorable campaign for RCB, who suffered six consecutive defeats at the beginning of the tournament before turning the tables.
The Faf du Plessis-led side, in the second half of the league stage, emerged victorious in their next six matches to punch their ticket for the IPL 2024 playoffs.
In their last league appearance at home, RCB registered a 28-run win over Chennai Super Kings to secure a top-four finish.

Despite featuring in the IPL Playoffs eight times before, RCB have yet to claim their maiden title. They have played three IPL finals so far and lost on all occasions. RCB last qualified for the summit clash in 2016 when Sunrisers Hyderabad beat them by eight runs to clinch the trophy.
The Bengaluru-based side reached the playoffs of the 2022 IPL but lost in the Qualifier 2 to Rajasthan Royals. RCB will look to change the equation this time and end their 16-year-long wait for the IPL title.

RCB have so far played 14 matches in playoffs. They have won five of them while losing nine games. Batting first, RCB has registered three victories and successfully chased down a target on three occasions as well.

In 2020, RCB recorded lowest team total in their playoff history. They managed only 131 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the Eliminator against SRH.
