Proud Brother Sarfaraz Khan Congratulates Musheer After Record Ranji Trophy Century
Musheer produced a sublime knock of 136 off 326 deliveries in the second innings as Mumbai beat Vidarbha to win Ranji Trophy.

Musheer Khan etched his name in history as the Mumbai batter slammed a century in the Ranji Trophy final against Vidarbha.

The 19-year-old became the youngest Mumbai cricketer to score a hundred in a final of the Ranji Trophy.

The previous record was held by Sachin Tendulkar, who struck twin centuries in the 1994-95 Ranji Trophy final against Punjab at the age of 21.

After Musheer achieved the monumental feat, his elder brother Sarfaraz Khan shared a series of Instagram stories, showering praise on the youngster.

Sarfaraz, who made his India debut in the recently concluded Test series against England, said Musheer has a long way to go as he wrote,

The proud brother also re-shared Suryakumar Yadav’s Sher Bhookha Hai story.

The Indian middle-order batter, via an Instagram post congratulated Musheer on breaking the long-standing Ranji Trophy record.

Sarfaraz also shared a photo featuring his father Naushad Khan, who is certainly on cloud nine, courtesy of the recent achievements of his sons.

Like his younger brother, Sarfaraz also slammed a century in the Ranji Trophy final in the 2021-22 season when Madhya Pradesh beat Mumbai to claim the prestigious title.

Musheer produced a sublime knock of 136 off 326 deliveries in the second innings. His stupendous knock helped Mumbai set a mammoth 500-plus target.

His knock was laced with ten fours.

Musheer notched his maiden first-class century in the quarter-final against Baroda and converted it into a double-hundred. He scored 203 runs off 357 balls, with Mumbai winning the knock-out game by an innings and 70 runs.

In the following game against Tamil Nadu, Musheer once again demonstrated his talent by playing a crucial knock of 55. His contributions and a quickfire century by allrounder Shardul Thakur helped Mumbai secure a comfortable victory in the semi-final.

Musheer entered the Ranji Trophy on the back of a memorable U-19 World Cup campaign. In his seven appearances in the tournament, Musheer racked up 360 runs at an average of 60. He smashed two centuries and a fifty, ending the campaign as its second-highest run-scorer.
