Lucknow Super Giants coach Justin Langer left one of his players in the dust during a push-up contest. Widely regarded as one of Australia’s greatest-ever openers, Langer is no slouch when it comes to being a physical beast. During one of the franchise’s training sessions, 53-year-old Langer competed in a one-vs-one pushup contest against all-rounder Yudhvir Singh Charak. The franchise shared a clip of the mini-competition on Instagram where Charak can be seen stopping after eight pushups whereas Langer doubled up at 16. “Rishte mein toh hum tumhare coach lagte hain. Naam hai Langer [In the relationship I’m your coach. The name is Langer],” read the caption of the post.

Yudhvir Singh had the perfect response to the video as he hilariously displayed his competitiveness in comments, asking for a rematch. The franchise replied to the comment by saying that a second round of pushups can be held during training. “See you two at training for Round 2”, they wrote.
Justin Langer’s international career with Australia began in 1993 in a series against the West Indies. His best stint came in 2004 when the batter amassed 1481 runs in a year. Langer retired from international cricket in 2007, having played 105 Tests and eight ODIs wearing the Australian jersey. He amassed 7856 runs across the two formats in international cricket.
Justin Langer has also enjoyed a successful career as a coach. He was appointed Australia’s boss in 2018. A year later, Langer guided his side to an ICC ODI World Cup semi-final. England proved to be the better team in that match, winning by 8 wickets. In 2021, Langer won his first trophy as manager with the squad at the T20 World Cup hosted by the UAE and Oman. In the IPL, the ex-opener replaced Andy Flower as the Lucknow Super Giants’ head coach in 2023.
