The fans in Mumbai can’t wait for the Indian cricket team to arrive in Mumbai for the open bus parade followed by the felicitation ceremony at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. People have already gathered in huge numbers to have a glimpse of their superstars who recently scripted history in the Caribbean and brought the T20 World Cup home after 17 years.

Team India Victory Parade Live Updates

Meanwhile, social media has been flooded with visuals from Mumbai. It’s drizzling in the city since afternoon, yet the streets are jam-packed. The fans are out on the roads, waving the national flag high and waiting for Rohit Sharma’s Team India with the cup.

In one of the videos doing rounds, the Wankhede Stadium could be seen a full house with the audience chanting ‘Hardik-Hardik’. Just a month ago, the all-rounder was booed at this venue when he turned up as the Mumbai Indians captain in the IPL 2024, taking over the reins of Rohit Sharma. But the five-time champions endured a horrendous season and were the first team to get knocked out of the tournament which led to unending criticism for Pandya.

But once the all-rounder donned the Indian jersey and stepped into the vice-captain’s shoes, he started garnering love from the cricket fans. He bowled a critical final over against South Africa in the final, defending 16 runs off the last 6 balls and handing India the coveted silverware.

As per the itinerary shared by the officials here, the T20 World Cup winning side was slated for a two-hour open bus parade from the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in Nariman Point to the Wankhede Stadium from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

However, it was learnt that the team could only leave New Delhi by 3:42 pm after reaching the national capital for a meeting with the Indian PM Narendra Modi earlier in the day, having returned from Barbados only early in the morning.

The Wankhede Stadium here was thrown open to fans, who filled up the stands within minutes to celebrate the Indian cricket team’s title triumph last Saturday.
