The former Indian spin-bowler and T20 World Cup winner, Harbhajan Singh has backed the current Indian team led by Rohit Sharma to go all the way and lift the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
Ahead of India’s Super Eight match against Bangladesh, the former Indian international praised the contributions that have come from the players as a collective and implored that the side continues to play the same way for the remainder of the ongoing tournament.
The Indian team remain unbeaten in the 2024 edition barring the game against Canada which was washed out due to rain in Florida. They also managed to beat the high-flying Afghanistan side with a convincing win by 47 runs in Barbados.
“Our team has shown exceptional form in the T20 World Cup so far, with every player in the playing 11 contributing significantly. We have been playing our A-game ticking all the boxes. The boys are in great touch, and the confidence is high. If we continue to play with the same determination, intensity, and passion I do not doubt that we can get over the line and bring the World Cup home for the first time after 2007,” Harbhajan said on Disney+ Hotstar.

The Indian team will hope to get their batting on track when playing in the Caribbean with the likes of their star-studded opening pair of Rohit and Virat Kohli at the top being amongst the runs for the Men in Blue.
Along with Bangladesh, India will also take on Australia for the remainder of the Super Eight games and will hope to secure wins in both fixtures to guarantee their spot in the semi-finals of the tournament.
India’s bowling has been the star of their campaign so far with the fast-bowling trio of Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya in fine form when playing in the United States of America for the group stages. Being in top form the trio has been able to strike with wickets regularly to give India the edge.
Rishabh Pant has been outstanding with the bat throughout the tournament, particularly in America where conditions were not suitable for the batters. He brought in his unorthodox style of batting to make use of the conditions to score some vital runs so far.
