Avesh Khan's 'Samaira Celebration' After Tilak Varma's Century In Duleep Trophy Goes Viral – WATCH
Tilak Varma scored 111 runs from 193 balls for India A on Saturday in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024 match against India D in Anantapur.

Tilak Varma scored an unbeaten century for India A on Saturday (September 14) in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024 match against India D at Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur. The 21-year-old left-handed batter came out to bat at No. 3 for the Mayank Agarwal-led side in the second inning and, with the help of nine fours, scored 111 runs from 193 balls.

The Guntur-born cricketer completed his century with a double on the second ball of the 94th over bowled by Saransh Jain. He needed 177 balls to cross the triple-figure mark. After completing his century, the Mumbai Indians star celebrated in style, but more than him, his India A teammate Avesh Khan’s celebration from the dressing room caught everyone’s attention.

In a video shared by BCCI Domestic’s X handle, Avesh can be seen celebrating Tilak century with a special Samaira celebration. The clip of Avesh copying Samaria’s celebration is now going viral on the internet.

For the unversed, Samaira is Indian captain Rohit Sharma’s five-year-old daughter. She shares a close bond with Tilak, and after his every fifty/century in IPL, international cricket, or domestic, Tilak comes up with a special celebration that’s dedicated to her.

Target of 478 runs

Thanks to Tilak’s century on Day 3, India A declared its second innings at 380 for 3 in 98 overs and thus extended its total lead to 477 runs to set up a total of 478 runs for India D to chase down in the fourth innings of the match.

During his stay at the crease on the third day’s play, Tilak, who missed out on a place in the Indian team for the Sri Lankan tour last month due to injury, added 104 runs for the second wicket with Pratham Singh. Pratham, who opened along with Mayank Agarwal, top-scored in the second inning by making 122 runs.

After his dismissal, Tilak joined hands with Riyan Parag and added 45 runs for the third wicket. The Assam-based all-rounder, who made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe in July and ODI debut against Sri Lanka in August, scored 20 runs from 31 balls. After Parag was sent back to the dugout on the last ball of the 69th over by Saurabh Kumar, Tilak added unbeaten 116 runs for the fourth wicket with Shashwat Rawat, who remained unbeaten on 64.
