Ahead of Gandhi Jayanti, Gautam Gambhir Shares Infamous Quote to Celebrate India's Win
Team India secured the win in Kanpur from an unlikely situation where two whole days were washed out due to inclement weather and a wet outfield.

As Team India registered a thumping win over Bangladesh to seal a 2-0 Test series sweep at home, Gautam Gambhir revealed his first reaction on his official Instagram handle on social media.

Gambhir put up a story on his official Instagram handle which read, “Strength isn’t physical it’s the indomitable will”. This caption was written for three posts on his stories, celebrating a fantastic win at Kanpur.

The Head Coach of the Indian Cricket Team has had a flying start in the Test format as they produced a dominant display at home against their next-door neighbours. But it was the performance of the side at the Green Park Stadium that caught the eyes of many.

With a major chunk of Day 1 along with Day 2 and Day 3 being washed out due to a wet outfield and inclement weather, India needed to ensure that they pick up as many wins as possible ahead of the Australia tour to ensure that they had the best possible chance to cement their spot in the World Test Championship for a third consecutive year.

With two days left to go, Rohit Sharma and co, displayed a more ruthless version of themselves in a bid to force a result. This began with the bowling unit piling up the wickets to end Bangladesh’s first batting innings at 233 runs.

In India’s second batting innings, Rohit and Yashasvi Jaiswal set the tone for the game showcasing an aggressive approach, scoring runs left, right and centre with relative ease. The Indian captain began his knock by smashing two sixes off the first two deliveries he faced, to lead from the front.

Despite wickets falling, India managed to secure a lead of 52 runs. The bowling attack geared up once again as they toiled away in the Kanpur heat to send the Bangladeshi batters packing with a target of just 94 runs and plenty of time left on the final day.

Jaiswal managed to bag his second fifty of the match as India went on to chase down the target in just 17.2 overs to end the Test series on a positive note.

Gambhir will be back with the side as India takes on Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series starting on October 6. This would be followed by the three-match Test series against New Zealand as well.
