5 Uncapped Indian Players To Watch Out For In Duleep Trophy 2024
A total of four teams will feature in the 2024 edition of the Duleep Trophy, which is set to begin on September 5, 2024, in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, and M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

After suffering a shocking defeat in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka at the start of the ongoing month, Indian players are on rest these days and will return to action next month. India is scheduled to face Bangladesh in a two-match Test series that starts on September 19 in Chennai. Ahead of the home series against the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side, which secured a historic win over Pakistan on Sunday (August 25), Indian players will take part in the Duleep Trophy 2024.

The first round matches of the Duleep Trophy will be played in Anantapur and Bengaluru from September 5 onwards, and more than 50 players were selected by the BCCI on August 14 to be part of the four squads.

Many Indian international players, like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, and Shreyas Iyer, among others, will be in action in the Duleep Trophy, along with so many uncapped players.

Here’s a look at five uncapped Indian players to watch out for in the Duleep Trophy 2024

Abhimanyu Easwaran: Bengal batter Abhimanyu Easwaran will lead India B in the Duleep Trophy 2024. The 28-year-old has scored more than 7,000 runs in 94 First Class matches played so far, but he is still waiting for his chance to play for India. With the big Test season coming up for India, Easwaran would like to come up with a big show with the bat in the upcoming three matches to present a case for selection in Team India as a back-up opener at least.

Yash Dayal: Yash Dayal will play for India B in the Duleep Trophy 2024. The 26-year-old has 72 wickets to his name in 23 first-class matches played so far. The left-arm pacer impressed with his performance in the IPL 2024 for RCB and if he manages to maintain the same show in Duleep Trophy as well then he could be considered for the upcoming red-ball matches.

Harshit Rana: Harshit Rana made headlines for his super show with the ball in the IPL 2024 for the Kolkata Knight Riders. He earned his maiden India call-up for the T20I series against Zimbabwe and then was part of the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka as well, but didn’t get a chance to play in either of them. The 22-year-old pacer, who has picked up 28 wickets in 7 FC matches played so far, will represent Shreyas Iyer-led India D in the Duleep Trophy 2024.

Nitish Kumar Reddy: Nitish Reddy won the Emerging Player of the Year award in the IPL 2024. The youngster is a right-handed batter who bowls at medium pace as well. With the big Australian Test series coming up, Indian selectors will keep a close eye on him during the Duldeep Trophy 2024, and if he manages to impress with his all-round show, then he will be in line to be part of the Indian Test team for the Australia series.

Musheer Khan: Musheer Khan is the younger brother of Sarfaraz Khan. Like Sarfaraz, Musheer is also a right-handed middle-order batter and has already made a big name for himself in domestic cricket. He scored a double century for Mumbai against Baroda in the last season of the Ranji Trophy, and overall, he has 529 runs to his name in just six First Class matches played so far. The 19-year-old is part of the India B team.
